The challenge
The customer is a healthy café chain with several stores in Nassau. Phone orders matter to the business, but the phone tends to ring at the same time the counter is busiest. Every phone order meant a member of staff stepping away from the customers in front of them, and writing the order up by hand.
What we built
Formartiq built a dedicated phone ordering line. Customers call, choose their store and order by voice from the current menu. The order is read back to the caller to confirm it.
Instead of reading card details over the phone, the caller gets a secure payment link by SMS. Once paid, the order goes straight into Square at the store they chose, alongside the store's other orders. No handwritten order slips, no re-keying and no card numbers read aloud.
- Menu items and prices come from Square, so the phone line stays in step with the counter
- Store hours are respected, with Bahamian public holidays built in
- Each order goes to the location the caller picked
How it works now
The ordering line is live and taking customer orders. We continue to support and refine it as the menu and stores change.
