The challenge

The customer is a maritime and project services company in Freeport, Grand Bahama, which also acts as a customs broker for imports. It needed its new business voice service connected to a managed phone system, with the number its customers already use kept working. Its brokers also spend time turning bundles of import documents into customs declarations.

What we built

In August 2026, Formartiq connected a new Cable Bahamas Corporate Voice (ALIV Business) SIP trunk, ordered in the company's name, to its hosted 3CX platform. The trunk carries the local 242 numbers used across the wider group. Formartiq ran inbound and outbound call testing with the carrier and worked with its engineers to resolve call-routing issues before accepting the installation.

Formartiq also built a trial AI drafting assistant for the brokerage team. From a bundle of import documents, it prepares a draft classification and declaration lines for a broker to review. A broker checks and finalises every declaration.

  • Carrier SIP trunk connected to hosted 3CX
  • Inbound and outbound testing with the carrier before acceptance
  • Arrangements with the carrier to keep the number the company's customers already call separate from the group's new numbers
  • Trial AI assistant for drafting customs classifications

How it works now

The group's business lines, including the company's staff extensions, run on the hosted 3CX platform managed by Formartiq. The customs drafting assistant is in trial with the brokerage team, with brokers reviewing every draft.
